In a move to place
\nadditional quality and value to their housing projects, the Housing Development
\nCorporation (HDC) has embarked on an onslaught of attractive features for house
\nbuyers. <\/span>These features include wireless
\ninternet facility, fully furnished houses and mini libraries in the housing
\nestates, all at an affordable price.
\n<\/span>Taman Sepakat Jaya II at Demak Laut, consisting of 304 units of terrace
\nhouses, is the first medium-affordable housing area in the State to have the
\nwireless internet facility from TMNet. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

For the upcoming new
\nphase of housing development at Taman Sepakat Jaya, 26 units of terrace houses
\nwill be fully furnished. <\/span>Says YB Dato
\nSri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Minister of Housing, \u201cThis is one way to educate
\nhouse buyers on how they should decorate or furnish their houses. <\/span>For those who buy these fully furnished
\nhomes, they can just move in with a bag.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

In the wider context,
\n\u2018community bonding\u2019 is the objective of the Ministry of Housing by ensuring that
\nall new housing estates in Sarawak are equipped with a mini-library. <\/span>\u201cWe are not only building houses but also
\npromoting interaction within the community,\u201d expressed YB Dato Sri Abang Johari
\nTun Openg. <\/span>The concept of
\nmini-libraries is derived from United Kingdom and Australia where it is known
\nas country libraries. <\/span>The library
\nfacility will also serve to encourage the younger generation to adopt the habit
\nof reading or provide them with a place to study in quiet.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Another Western
\nconsideration by the Ministry of Housing is a construction technology from
\nFinland that could shorten construction period of housing projects without
\nsacrificing quality and cost of houses.
\n<\/span>\u201cThe technology is widely used in Finland where it allows for fast
\nconstruction, is cost efficient and houses could be custom-designed according
\nto client\u2019s choice,\u201d stated YB Dato Sri Abang Johari Tun Open. <\/span>Funding for the acquisition of this
\ntechnology has been proposed under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP).<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Homes of the future
\nare not only of steel and bricks but also of community bonding and friendly
\nneighborliness. <\/span>By providing quality
\namenities and facilities in housing projects, the Ministry of Housing and HDC
\naims to create a conducive living environment, especially for the younger generations,
\nsuch that they could treat the houses as homes. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
