The year of 2006 proved to be a busy one
\nfor the Asajaya District Office. A total of 156 projects were implemented,
\nthese being 70 Public Infrastructure Maintenance (PIA) projects, 76 Rural Basic
\nInfrastructure Development (PIAS) projects and 10 Village Road (PJK) projects.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Public Infrastructure Maintenance
\n(PIA) Projects<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/h2>\n
\n<\/div>\n

The PIA
\nprojects that were carried out in 2006 ranged from infrastructure maintenance
\nand quality-improving measures towards government buildings, including:<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n
    \n
  • The repairing of
    \nfences, guard houses, entrance\/exit ways, floors, walls, roofs, rain-water
    \nflowage systems, toilets, water pipe systems, drains, sewage systems and roads<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/li>\n
  • The
    \nrepairing\/rewiring of electrical systems (excluding air conditioners)<\/span><\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    \n<\/div>\n
    \n<\/div>\n

    <\/font><\/td>\nThese
    \nprojects were designed to restore and improve the related buildings, giving
    \nstaff members and visitors a user-friendly atmosphere. Examples of government
    \nbuildings that underwent these repairs included schools such as SK Tg. Apong,
    \nSK Tambirat, SK Moyan Laut, SK Haji Bujang Rangawan Putin, SK Jemukan as well
    \nas the Asajaya Department of Agriculture, the Department of Irrigation and
    \nDrainage and the Jemukan and Sambir Health Clinics. These projects amounted to
    \na total cost of RM 4.923 million, with the most expensive project costing RM
    \n200 thousand.<\/span><\/font><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    Rural Basic Infrastructure
    \nDevelopment (PIAS) Projects<\/span><\/font><\/h2>\n

    The PIAS
    \nprojects that were carried out in 2006 included:<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

    \n<\/div>\n
      \n
    • The construction, repairing and improvement
      \nof small bridges, culverts\/gabions, small jetties, drains and village and
      \nplantation roads<\/span><\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n<\/div>\n

      As part of the district office\u2019s plan to provide basic
      \ninfrastructure amenities to the people of Asajaya, these projects helped to
      \ndevelop numerous villages, including Kampung Beliong, Kampung Tambirat, Kampung
      \nSambir, Kampung Sebandi Ulu, Kampung Sebandi Matang, Kampung Iboi, Kampung Sg.
      \nPutin and Kampung Sadong Jaya. The total cost for these projects reached a
      \ntotal of RM 9.388 million, with the most expensive project costing RM 200
      \nthousand.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

      Village
      \nRoad (PJK) Projects<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

      \n<\/div>\n

      The PJK projects
      \nthat were carried out in 2006 included:<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

        \n
      • The construction
        \nof new roads<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/li>\n
      • The repairing
        \nand re-tarring of current roads<\/span><\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n<\/div>\n
        \n<\/div>\n

        The
        \nlocations of these projects included Kampung Moyan Laut, Kampung Tambirat Cina,
        \nKampung Jaie, Kampung Jemukan and Asajaya Ulu as well as several other
        \nlocations within Asajaya. The objectives of the PJK projects were to create
        \nroad linkages for the villagers, enabling them to travel to and from the
        \nvarious villages as well as providing a communication link amongst the
        \nvillages. The total cost for these projects reached a total of RM 1.43 million,
        \nwith the most expensive project costing RM 200 thousand.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

        As 2007
        \nbegins, there will undoubtedly be more projects in store for the Asajaya
        \nDistrict Office to plan and implement for the benefit of the people of Asajaya.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
