Effective Oct 1, there will be a new fee structure for those
\nwanting to replace their lost MyKad. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

According to the National Registration Department (NRD), a
\nRM100 fee will be imposed on those requesting for their first replacement
\nMyKad, RM200 for the second replacement, and RM300 for the third and subsequent
\nreplacements. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

NRD director-general Datuk Mohd Abdul Halim Muhammad said
\nthe new fee rates will be applicable to both Malaysian citizens and
\nnon-citizens, and it was meant to curb the problem of misplaced identity
\ncards. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

In a press statement, the NRD noted that this fee did not
\ninclude the application fee of RM10; no processing fee will be charged. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Currently, payment for MyKad replacement ranges from RM30
\n(for first replacement) to RM120 (for fourth and subsequent replacements).
\n <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

However, those exempted from this fee are: <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

  • The poor, disabled, the elderly – They need to show a
    \nconfirmation letter from the Welfare Department, District Office, Penghulu or
    \nthe Orang Asli Affairs Department (JHEOA). <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/li>\n
  • Those who lost their MyKad because of robbery or snatch
    \ntheft – They need to show a police report stating the details of the incidents
    \nclearly. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/li>\n
  • Those affected by natural disasters such as
    \nhouse fire, floods, typhoons, landslides or tsunami – They need to show a
    \nconfirmation letter from the Welfare Department, Penghulu or District Office.<\/span><\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
