Four (4) Sarawak entrepreneurs received labels for their product packaging through SIRIM Group\u2019s CSR programme during the SIRIM-Industry Engagement programme on 6 September in Kuching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recipients of SIRIM Group\u2019s CSR programme are as follows;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The objective of the CSR programme is to improve the quality of product presentation hence to help the entrepreneurs further enhance their sales revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The corporate social responsibility programme aims to assist micro, small and medium entrepreneurs that are affected economically due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout Malaysia, SIRIM has selected 30 entrepreneurs for the program which has been initiated since last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the programme, the entrepreneurs will each receive logo design, label and packaging complete with nutritional facts in accordance with the nutrition regulations as well as promotional material such as buntings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrepreneurs were also given basic course on product packaging and branding as well as the basics of digital promotion including on social media and online shopping platforms from SIRIM experts from Packaging and Security Design Centre and SIRIM wholly owned subsidiary, SIRIM Training (STS Sdn Bhd).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nutritional testing services on food and beverage was conducted by another subsidiary, SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bdh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Themed \u201cBringing SIRIM Closer to Community and Industry\u201d, the SIRIM-Industry Engagement programme emphasised the importance of research and development, energy management, quality, trainings, testing and certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 200 representatives from government agencies, industry associations as well as local entrepreneurs from various sectors including food and beverage, oil and gas, steel industry, timber, electrical industry in Sarawak attended the half day programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present at the event was Deputy Minister of Urban Planning Land Administration and Environment, Datu Haji Len Talif Salleh who was representing the Sarawak Premier and President and Group Chief Executive of SIRIM Berhad, Dato\u2019Indera Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad.<\/p>\n\n\n
