Minister of Welfare, Women and Family Development, Sarawak YB Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah (right) at the press conference on the preparations for the upcoming Paralympiad Malaysia that will be held in Kuching and Samarahan, Sarawak from 2 to 9 August 2016.<\/p>\n

Themed \u201cUnity in Diversity\u201d, All 15 states will compete for the event that features nine sports, namely archery, athletics, badminton, lawn bowl, weightlifting, swimming, bowling, table tennis and chess.<\/p>\n

The Sarawak contingent aims to have 190 athletes to represent the state; they will be divided into four categories which are category A (physical disability or cacat anggota<\/em>), category B (visually impaired or cacat penglihatan<\/em>), category C (cerebral palsy or spastics) and category D (intellectually disabled).<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Welfare, Women and Family Development has been appointed as the organiser for this year\u2019s Paralympiad Games.<\/p>\n
