The quadrennial event is designed as a global platform for experts in peatland to exchange information and establish research partnerships and co-operations with international institutions.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s congress, themed \u201cPeatlands in Harmony: Agriculture, Industry and Nature\u201d, is taking place from 15 to 19 August 2016 and has attracted over 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries, where nearly 400 research papers were accepted as oral and poster presentations. This is also the first time the congress is being held in Asia.<\/p>\n
